Amelia was critical to getting me "back on track" -- I came to her having not worked out seriously in a few years and with fairly severe knee pain from 3 surgeries and a sedentary job. She got me moving again, focusing on strengthening my legs and getting my stability back. In a matter of months, my knee pain was gone (even when running), I was lifting almost as much as I could as a college athlete 15+ years ago, and my abs/core were stronger than they'd ever been. In addition to all of this, Amelia has done a great job during the pandemic -- her virtual and outdoor workouts are just as challenging & fun, and have been a much needed part of my physical and mental health.

I have been training with Amelia for about a year now, and I am so incredibly grateful for it. Bottom line, I have never been this strong in my life. My strength and fitness became readily apparent while on a ski trip. I am a totally different skier now, I am able to go through the moguls much faster, I no longer need to take breaks while on a long mogul run, and I could keep skiing long after the rest of my group wants to call it quits. I attribute all of this to Amelia, as there is no way that I would have been able to get into this good of shape by myself.

Growing up I loved sports, played club lacrosse in college and was always very into working out. After graduating though, I struggled to get the same joy out of working out as I used to. I was paired up with Amelia as a trainer at Equinox, and I feel so incredibly lucky that I was paired with her and not someone else. Amelia truly caters each and every workout personally for me. While I workout with her three times a week, I felt constantly challenged with nothing ever feeling monotonous.

Her training sessions are hard. I am always dripping sweat after, and appropriately sore when I should be. They are also fun. She makes doing sprints and agility fun and not arduous. As tough as these workouts are, I also recommend Amelia for people new to working out as she is able to tailor a program to a variety of needs and explain things well. Amelia is truly incredibly knowledgeable about fitness and I have recommended her to my friends, and my family members. Amelia has truly helped me get the same joy out of working out as I did from athletics.

Amelia gave me the push I needed to finally get into the gym. I had bounced around in fitness classes and had hit a plateau. I wasn't seeing any physical improvement or gaining a mental break. Instead I found myself checking a box. I knew I needed to mix up my routine. Even though I had worked out for years, the thought of walking into a gym was always daunting. I didn't know where to begin. 

When I met Amelia we talked about my goals. She created an extremely thoughtful program based on fundamental movements. The workouts are personalized and so well thought out.  She truly cares about helping you reach and exceed your goals. She checks in consistently to ask how you're feeling and makes sure you are getting what you need from the program. She provides honest feedback to keep you on track. 

These workouts are tough. Working out with Amelia has made me more thoughtful about my movements. I have made steady increases in strength, without injury. Within a matter of weeks, I felt better mentally and was lifting weights I never considered in the past. In the past 6 months, Amelia has been my true north star in my journey to achieving my health goals and has coached me to become the healthiest version of myself.

Though I always ran and played tennis for cardio, I needed a trained professional to tackle my nutrition and strength training. Immediately after my consultation, Amelia designed a personalized, goal-specific nutrition plan that aligns with my lifestyle (which, as a lifelong foodie, could be considered a tad unreasonable :) I asked her for a habit modifying, research-based nutrition approach that would not be taxing with lots of restrictions and that could easily be sustained over many years. A bit skeptical at first (I mean, who eats cultured cottage cheese? :), but combined with her training plan, my body fat ratio went down by 25% in 6 months. I am sold! I am also getting really good at eating grains, nuts, healthy fats, and tons of fruits and veggies and can now enjoy both the physical and emotional benefits of healthy eating.

Her strength training plan is also highly customized to my personal need, past injuries, preferred equipment, and unique progression preferences. Though I liked to train solo, and I valued my independence in achieving my fitness objectives, Amelia now provides the motivation, expertise, and support I need. With her customized workout plan, she took all the guesswork out (confusing and conflicting YouTube opinions are also out) and she built an injury-free, continually fresh, flexible workout plan that maximizes my time at the gym and focuses on MY personal fitness objectives.

Always my biggest cheerleader, Amelia is a zoom call, or text away to share her wealth of knowledge and is available for reps or weight adjustments, exercises modifications, proper form guidance, and nutrition questions. She finds solutions, provide trips, trick, and resources to remove barriers and she also celebrate success so I can train at my full potential.

As I wanted to build out my home gym (no more dressing/driving to gym, waiting for turn, and compulsively wiping equipments), Amelia advised me on the right equipment to get started and how to progress.

I am incredibly grateful to have worked with Amelia and to have had her knowledge and guidance as my trainer. When I started working with Amelia, I had been in physical therapy for over six months and was working on rebuilding my strength. Amelia carefully listened to what issues I was still dealing with and tailor my program to meet me where I was at that time.
